Workspace, team and billing
Everything about the account rather than the views: the connection to Attio, who is in the workspace and what they can do, the plan, and what happens when any of those change. All of it lives under Settings, reached from the account menu at the top right.
The Attio connection
Settings → Attio connection, then Connect Attio. It is an OAuth sign-in on Attio’s side, and afterwards we can read the lists and objects your own Attio account can see. Connecting publishes nothing. Attio’s consent screen asks for write access whatever you plan to do, and the publishing guide explains why. Only an owner or an admin can connect or disconnect a workspace.
- If the connection stops working, because the grant was withdrawn in Attio or Attio stopped accepting it, the Views list leads with a banner saying so and linking here. Views over it are paused and nothing is deleted. Reconnecting the same Attio workspace restores them.
- Disconnecting asks first and says how many live views it will stop. Your views and their filters are kept, paused.
Disconnecting removes the token we stored. It cannot withdraw the grant on Attio’s side; to do that, remove PublicViews from your Attio workspace’s connected apps.
Workspaces
One PublicViews workspace belongs to one Attio workspace. Each has its own plan, its own limits, its own team and its own audit trail. Connecting a second Attio workspace creates a second PublicViews workspace and switches you into it, which is how a consultant keeps each client’s views apart. Switch between them from the account menu at the top right.
If you sign in with Attio and a colleague has already connected your company’s Attio workspace, you are not given a new workspace. You are offered a request to join theirs, and the people who can approve it are emailed. You hear back at the address you signed in with. A declined request is final from that screen; an invitation from someone in the workspace still works.
Naming a workspace
Settings → General, the first row. A workspace starts out named after the Attio workspace you connected, and this is where you change that. Owners and admins can rename; members see the name and no box.
The name is not just a label in the dashboard. It is the byline under the title on every view you publish, it is what the cover sheet says when someone is asked for a password or an email address, and it is the name in the emails we send viewers and colleagues. A live view picks up a new name on its next request; nothing needs republishing.
Your Attio workspace keeps its own name. We store it separately, exactly as Attio reported it when you connected, and nothing in PublicViews can change it — the General tab shows it underneath, read-only, so you can see both. Renaming here changes what your readers see and nothing in your CRM.
Team, roles and seats
Settings → Team lists everyone who can sign in to the workspace and build views, and the invitations that have not been accepted yet. Owners and admins invite people and change roles; members see the list.
| Role | What they can do |
|---|---|
| Owner | Everything, including billing, the Attio connection, removing other people and deleting the workspace. |
| Admin | Publish and pause views, change who can open them, connect Attio, manage the team and billing. |
| Member | Build and edit views, pause a live one, and approve or reject viewer edits. Cannot publish, change who can open a view, or touch the Attio connection. |
A seat is a publisher login: someone on this list. Viewers are not seats, and every plan has unlimited viewers. An invitation that has not been accepted yet holds a seat, so sending more invitations than you have seats is refused. The seat is checked again when someone accepts, because the plan may have changed in between, and the Team screen says what it would take to raise the limit.
| Plan | Publisher seats |
|---|---|
| Free | 1 |
| Starter | 5 |
| Pro | Unlimited |
An invitation link works for someone with no account yet: they create one and land in the workspace they were invited to.
Changing plan
Settings → Plan and billing. Changing the plan is for owners and admins. The screen shows your plan, your usage against its limits (live views, and your largest view against the record limit), and the plans you can move to, monthly or annually. The pricing page has what each plan includes.
- Switching between paid plans or billing periods opens a dialog that says exactly what will happen before anything does. Either it charges a prorated amount to the card on file today, crediting the unused part of your current period, or it says nothing will be charged today and credits the difference against your next invoice. Cancel, and nothing changes.
- Your card is managed in Stripe’s customer portal, one button on the same screen.
- Moving to the free plan keeps every paid feature until the end of the period you have paid for. After that, views over the free limit are paused, never deleted, and pending edits are kept. You can undo it any time before then.
Failed payments and downgrades
If a payment fails, the billing screen says so in amber and counts down the days everything stays live, with a button to sort out the card. If your bank needs you to approve a payment, the screen says that instead, and the plan it shows is not paid for until you do.
When the grace period ends, the workspace moves to the free plan. What happens then is the same as any downgrade, and nothing is deleted:
- Views over the new plan’s limit are paused.
- Pending viewer edits are kept.
- A view that shows each viewer only their own rows is paused, if the new plan does not include row scoping, rather than shown to everyone unscoped.
- Analytics older than the new plan’s history stop being shown.
Paused views show Paused by us, and publishing them again runs the plan checks. More on views we pause.
Deleting a workspace
Settings → General, at the foot of the page, and only for the owner. It lists what will be destroyed, counted at that moment (views, record filters, cached records, Attio connections and members), says how many published links will stop working, and asks you to type the workspace name.
- A paid subscription is ended first: cancelled at the end of the period you have already paid for, not refunded. If we cannot reach Stripe to do that, nothing is deleted at all.
- Everything else goes with it: filters, field settings, access policies, viewer sessions, pending edits and analytics. There is no restore.
- Your Attio data is untouched; we only ever held a copy. As with disconnecting, the grant on Attio’s side stays until you remove PublicViews from your Attio connected apps.
Custom domains
Not available on any plan. Every view is served from its PublicViews link, and that is the link to give people. A hostname pointed at us reaches our marketing site rather than your view, so claiming one is switched off rather than sold.
Nothing here deletes a view by surprise
Disconnecting Attio, a failed payment and a downgrade all pause views rather than delete them. The two things that delete are deleting a view and deleting the workspace, and both ask you to type its name first.
